Hyundai Santro vs Wagon R – A quick comparison to buy in 2023

The top two automakers are Hyundai and Suzuki. They are far ahead of their rivals in terms of market share. They have two of the best affordable hatchbacks money can buy: the Maruti WagonR and the Hyundai Santro.

Confused between the Santro and the Wagon R? Considering buying a Maruti Suzuki Wagon R or a Hyundai Santro with your hard-earned money? Don’t Stress! We are available to assist you in selecting between these two variants.

The two versions are thoroughly compared below based on several factors, like safety features, comfort, power, transmission, suspension, and more.

About Suzuki WagonR

Price in Pakistan:Around 3,250,000 PKR

Since 1999, the Suzuki WagonR has been sold throughout the nation. In January 2019, the third-generation BS6-compliant WagonR was introduced. The BS6 version, based on the HEARTECH platform, is larger and more potent than its predecessor.

The WagonR is a practical, no-nonsense city car with many features. However, the car’s driving dynamics fall short of expectations.

Another thing we couldn’t help but notice is that the second-generation WagonR is more pricey than the new WagonR. But compared to the previous model, this car is lighter.

About Hyundai Santro

Price in Pakistan:Around PKR 2,550,000

The prodigal son of Hyundai, the Santro, is a national favorite. In 1998, Santro made its debut in India. But as time passed, the South Korean firm added upgrades to keep the vehicle modern.

The user has a comfortable driving experience with this BS6 version. The automobile appears to have roomy interiors. Everything in the cabin has been given exquisite attention to detail.

It gives the impression that we are receiving more than we paid for. But how we wish the engine were a bit quieter.

Furthermore, no automatic temperature control nor alloy wheels are in even the highest variants!

Conclusion

If you read the whole article, you will learn more about the two vehicles and be better equipped to decide which one you want to buy.

From a technical standpoint, Santro features a 1086 CC engine that can produce 68PS@5500rpm when talking about the maximum power, giving it an advantage over the other two versions.

In contrast, the Wagon R has a 998 CC engine with a maximum power output of 65.71 horsepower at 5500 rpm.

Santro has a fuel tank capacity of 35 liters and is available in a petrol variant, while Wagon R has a petrol model currently on the market and has a fuel tank capacity of 32 liters.

The Santro isn’t your typical tall boy, to put it mildly. After all, it is a family vehicle and lives up to the moniker.

The taller WagonR gives the back passengers extra headroom. However, WagonR also has more body roll than a typical tall boy automobile.
