PTI to Carry Rangers and NAB over Imran’s ‘Abduction’

LAHORE: The opponent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has chosen to file a lawsuit against the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Rangers in connection with the “abduction” of its leader Imran Khan from the grounds of Islamabad High Court last week.

The PTI will also file charges about the “murder of unarmed citizens during peaceful protests” across the country.

It sought the formation of a high-powered panel of Supreme Court judges to investigate the murders of unarmed individuals and attempts to instigate demonstrators to cause anarchy in the country.

Pakistan’s democracy, according to the PTI chairman, is at an “all-time low.”

They made choices on Sunday at a meeting of party leaders presided over by Imran Khan at his Zaman Park mansion.

‘Propaganda is being rejected.’

Given the May 9 violent episodes, the PTI denounced the unfounded propaganda against the party.

“PTI chief Imran Khan never shifted from the course of law and justice even when he faced the worst kind of situations in his political career,” the PTI said, adding that not a single stone was thrown during protests in thousands of locations across the country in the aftermath of Mr. Khan’s assassination attempt on November 3 last year.

The suggested “attack” on the Supreme Court by “seminaries students” led by PDM president Maulana Fazlur Rehman was vehemently criticized by the PTI.

Elections in Punjab

The PTI called the government’s refusal to hold the Supreme Court-ordered general elections in Punjab on Sunday a “murder of the constitution.”

It claimed that the caretaker Punjab administration had no constitutional or legal right to remain in power.

The party gathering agreed to conclude a legal strategy for the future of caretaker governments in Punjab and KP.

Details about the Al Qadir Trust

The party meeting was given a full briefing on the Al-Qadir Trust lawsuit, which was brought against Imran Khan and his wife. It called the case a political smear campaign against Mr Khan and his wife.

The PTI central leaders meeting criticized the current crackdown and arrests of party leaders and workers, adding that the party will go to every length to assist the arrested party colleague.
