Elections in Punjab in 2023: PTI Releases a List of Ticket Holders

The Pakistan Tehreek-Insaf (PTI) has constituted a committee to resolve complaints and released a list of its ticket holders for the Punjab elections.

Major points

1.Fawad Chaudhry said they issued tickets to party nominees.
2.Appeal committees have also been included in four regions of Punjab.
3.Chairman PTI Imran Khan will carry the last decision on these appeals.

Details

According to a PTI release, all candidates will present their tickets to the appropriate returning authorities today.

Separately, a four-member committee has also been established to address concerns about ticket allocation, which has historically been a problem for the party.

The announcement said, “The committee shall decide on the appeals regarding the distribution of tickets.”

Fawad Chaudhry Explained about Tickets

According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Central Vice President Fawad Chaudhry, tickets have been given to party candidates for each of the 297 seats in the Punjab Assembly under the directives of PTI leader Imran Khan.

In contrast to the past, according to Fawad Chaudhry, Punjab’s four regions now have appeal committees that can submit applications for specific candidates.

About the Election’s Final Date

Musaddiq Abbasi, Ijaz Chaudhary, Rai Hassan Nawaz, and Aoon Abbas are on the panel.

It is significant to mention that the Supreme Court instructed the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to hold the elections in Punjab on May 14 in its order from April 4.

However, the Supreme Court is hearing this case due to the federal government’s failure to provide finances and security.

The federal government was also required to provide cash and protection, but due to the fear of terrorism and a lack of funding.

The leaders of the major political parties have been called before the court today as it hears the case involving the election delay.
